Summer nights are made for outdoor events, and January is filled with amazing outdoor family friendly events. Check out the events below for fun things to do in Adelaide this January. Journey through other cultures with the french or greek festival, or try a High Tea on the Popeye in true Adelaide style.

Cirque Nocturne Presents LITHA – January 6th

Cost: show free, workshop $10

For a fun family event, why not see a spectacular circus show in the parklands at the East End of the city. Why not attend one of the workshops before the show to try out various basic circus skills.

Adelaide French Festival – January 12-14th

Cost: free entry

The Adelaide Festival Centre will be the epicentre of all things french. The festival will include food, wine, fashion, music, and film. For the little ones, there is a junior sous chef workshop where the boy and girls can learn to create their own dishes at home.

Civic Park Movies – January 12th – February 9th

Cost: free

The warm summer nights indicate the beginning of the outdoor cinema showcasing great family friendly movies. The movies start around 8.30 fridays, you should arrive early to get a good seat and try out some fun activities.

Summer sessions at Whistler Wines – January 12th

Cost: free entry

Whistler Wines at 241 Seppeltsfield Road, holds a relaxing evening filled with music, delicious food, and amazing wines from 5pm to 9pm. Don’t forget to bring a fold up chair or picnic rug to relax on.

Semaphore Greek Festival – January 13th

Cost: free entry

For a family friendly event, the Semaphore Greek Festival, which is run entirely by volunteers. The festival features local greek bands, community dance groups, and amazing Greek food

Popeye High Tea – January 21st

Cost: $60 per person

Departing the Elder Park landing at 6.30 pm, cruise into the sunset on the Popeye with a glass of bubbles. Enjoy sandwiches, scones, and petit fours during the hour and a half cruise along the Torrens.
